Hello and welcome!
Quilts have been an important and wonderful part of my life for several decades now. I am glad you’ve chosen to come along and share in the joy.
There will be two posts each month:
beginning of the month - tidbits of quilt info and photos and stories
middle of the month - answers to your Ask Me Anything questions
Ask Me Anything questions can be submitted any time during the month here
The quilt below belongs to a friend of mine who loves to experiment with lots of patterns and techniques in her own quiltmaking. She also collects quilts. This one was made in 1934 (embroidered date) right in the area where my friend and I live. So it was a real treat to work on it. The pattern, Autumn Leaves, was newly published at that time. There are quite a few of them out there. Most that I’ve seen are made like this one, in the popular pastels of the time, and not at all in the mood of an autumn quilt!
